History

HOW IT ALL STARTED!

Founded in 1954 by Ben Cheney of Cheney Lumber Company in Tacoma, the Studs are one of the most tenured amateur baseball organizations in the country. More than 100 former and active professional baseball players have donned the Studs uniform.

The Seattle Stuuds traditionally participates in tournaments in Kamloops, B.C. (KIBT) and the Grand Forks International Tournament, also in British Columbia. In 2005 the Studs finished 4th in the NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas, the highest finish ever for the Studs. The Studs in 2008 will compete in Northwest Baseball for the 54th consecutive year, one of the oldest franchises in United States Amateur Baseball History.

The Studs are a mix of current college players with ex-professional players making us an experienced, baseball loving group that competes hard in every game and is very entertaining to watch and follow.

ONCE A STUD, ALWAYS A STUD!
